Boat Safety -

Boating safety – protecting our passengers, crew, and the environment is the top priority for American Beauty Cruises & Charters. We follow the safety standards established and enforced by the United.States Coast Guard (USCG) and we are inspected regularly to ensure we meet these standards.
The boating safety standards especially for boats that carry passengers, are a set of regulations and guidelines designed to ensure that boats and ships are safe for operation.
The USCG regulations cover many areas including vessel constuction and safety equipment standards. Each ot these areas are regularly inspected. There is an annual safety inspection and a dry dock inspection (boat construction) every 18 months.
Another blog covers the various safety equipment deployed by Captain Don. There is also a blog decicated to the use of life jackets and PFDs (Personal Floation Devices) as we receive many questions on this topic.
In addition to following safety standards, Captain Don operates American Beauty II in the clamer waters of the Peconic Estuary near Sag Harbor. This includes Sag Harbor Bay, Gardiners Bay, Noyac Bay, and Shelter Island Sound. The American Beauty II is never “out to sea” and is always within sight of land and the beautiful scenery of the area.
